The last time I blogged with photo's was in May.
Riley was 16 months old in the last pictures I posted.
That's along time ago and a LOT has happened since then.
Girlfriend is getting REALLY big and doing lots of fun things.
She doesn't really say understandable things to others
BUT
David and I understand her and we know she understands us.
Here are some things she's been saying and doing recently...
She can fully and correctly use the word "no". Might not always be when we want her to say no but she says it and understands it. It makes breakfast, lunch and dinner time a lot easier actually because we now ask her when she is hungry and she will either nod "yes" or say "no". Never thought I'd be excited about that milestone.
She also says "Thank you" but it sounds more like "tahack chew"
"More Milk" but sounds more like "mooo momilka"
Of course "Jackie" and "daddy" are a huge sayings in her book still.
Recently every time we turn onto our street and it's just her and me in the car she starts clapping wildly and says
"YaYY DADDY"
thinking David is home.
By the time we pull in and she doesn't see his car she gets sad.
If we are outside when he comes home, she starts jumping up and down and I've taught her to WAIT until the car stops to go get daddy.
She recently learned the word "blue" (blewweee is more how she says it) but she can identify the color blue. She also can find red and yellow.
Every morning after she has gotten up and dressed and ate breakfast, I ask her if she wants to
"go see her friends at daycare"
If she doesn't have shoes on she will quickly find the nearest shoes, want to put them on and run to the door.
Makes my leaving the house a little easier each morning.
The other day I asked her she wanted to go see her "teachers" at daycare and she turned around and said "teetcher". My heart melted.
We've been greatly spoiled by some wonderful daycare teachers who LOVE Riley and she LOVES them in return. Recently when she came home she walked around the house calling "Shay" which is one of the ladies at daycare and got really sad when she doesn't find Ms. Shay.
She can identify "Minnie" VERY well (memmeee) and she's now starting to identify Mickey.
She loves Minnie and Mickey.
She is learning the use spoons and forks and now no longer wants to use baby spoons and forks.
She still has 12 teeth but we think she might be working on a few more.
Her eating habbits are starting to get fairly picky.
She weights 23.12 pounds and is 31 inches long.
Naked cow-baby. This cracks me up.
Still as sweet as can be when she sleeps.
(Just a little naked butt)
She sleeps well most nights. There are nights where she wakes up, requires some cuddles from mommy or daddy and then back to sleep she goes.
Can't believe her second birthday is just a few months around the corner. Where did my BABY go??
And no that's not cue baby #2....
How cute is this child!!
Until next time...
XOXO
